Google unveils MusicLM, an AI system that can convert text into music

Recently, Google revealed an AI technology that can transcribe the text into music. A research paper titled MusicLM: Generating Music From Text was published by the tech giant.

Google's newest AI-powered tool, MusicLM, can create music from written instructions. However, the corporation has not yet made it available to the broader public, and it is unknown when it will.

"MusicLM generates music at a constant 24 kHz over the course of several minutes by modeling the process of conditional music generation as a hierarchical sequence-to-sequence modeling challenge. Some tests demonstrate that MusicLM performs better than older systems in terms of audio quality and text description conformance.

Google said the company will shortly release its ChatGPT rival

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, has disclosed the company's intention to integrate AI (artificial intelligence) technologies into its search engine. The CEO stated that users will "very soon" be able to "interact directly" with its "newest, most powerful model as a companion to search in experimental and imaginative ways" during the Q4 results call on Wednesday. For "factual" and conversational results, Google Search will use LaMDA (Language Model for Dialogue Applications), Google's proprietary language model. This news comes a day after a story claimed that Google was preparing to compete with ChatGPT, the popular AI-powered chatbot.

Additionally, it was said that Google is listening to employee feedback because several divisions have been instructed to step up efforts after the management designated ChatGPT as a "code red" situation. The study states that recent internal testing revealed LaMDA is improving and occasionally outperforming ChatGPT.

Up to 25% salary cuts at Intel are expected to prevent major layoffs in 2023

The current action by Intel, which has indicated that it will reduce staff compensation, is likely to prevent layoffs. The tech sector has experienced widespread layoffs during the past six months. Apple is currently the only significant company that has so far managed to avoid layoffs among the major tech businesses, all of which have done so in order to reduce expenses. In order to avoid taking drastic measures to downsize the staff, the corporation apparently did lower CEO Tim Cook's remuneration by 40%. Although Intel currently appears to be moving in the same way, this will have an effect on personnel at all levels.

Bloomberg was informed by Intel that the tech corporation intends to reduce the base salary of CEO Pat Gelsinger by 25% and the pay of his executive leadership team by 15%. The salaries of senior managers will be cut by 10%, while those of mid-level managers who get paid will be cut by 5%.

An AI-based news reading app is being developed by Instagram co-founders

Artifact, a news reading app, is being developed by Mike Krieger and Kevin Systrom, co-founders of Instagram. It is said that the app uses machine learning to learn about users' interests. According to a report, it may also enable them to discuss those articles with friends.

It is anticipated that the app will feature direct messaging and news feeds. Articles and comments written by users they have chosen to follow will be displayed in the feeds. According to the report, users will be able to privately discuss posts they have read with friends through the direct message inbox. Artifact is made possible by transformer, a Google-developed technology that also makes ChatGPT possible. It provides a means by which systems can comprehend language with significantly fewer inputs than were previously necessary.

Both Android and iOS support Artifact, a name that refers to the amalgamation of facts, articles, and artificial intelligence.
